A NATA Hall of Fame member with nearly 30 years of experience on the NCAA Division I level, Keith served as an administrator and head athletic trainer at the University of Kentucky for 17 years. Other positions have been Director of Sports Relations at The Hughston Clinic, Head Athletic Trainer at Morehead State University, Assistant Athletic Trainers at University of Florida and Head Athletic Trainer at Centre College. Keith currently works as an Industrial Site Athletic Trainer, Senior Administrator for Premise Health at Toyota Manufacturing in Georgetown, KY.
In AT professional leadership, Keith has served as President of both the Kentucky and Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Associations as well as being an original member of the NATA Reimbursement Advisory Group, the first NATA committee focusing on reimbursement strategies for athletic trainers. As a member of the NATA Governmental Affairs Committee for 20 years, Keith served the last 9 years as Chair. In this capacity, Keith led work on clarifying the impact of the HIPAA Privacy Rule on athletic trainers. He has worked with the National State Insurance Commissioners Conference to clarify state athletic training regulatory language as it relates to third party reimbursement for athletic trainers and worked with AT state associations’ leadership to address concerns and issues relating to state regulation, patient outcomes, and reimbursement. Keith has presented at national, regional, and state conferences on state regulatory efforts, HIPAA/FERPA, patient outcomes, and reimbursement issues.
